Anastasija from Revpanda had a chance to chat with Enrico Kierakowitz and Julian Gerdel, the founders of Le Rocco, about the beginning of their journey, motivation and most significant challenges for affiliate business.

Tell us more about yourself, what exactly attracted you in the industry?
We built our first website in 2013, just for fun. We placed a banner for an iGaming brand and had our first FTD! It was a magic moment. Since that moment we are keen on engaging more gamers, perfecting our websites and maximizing the reach.
How did you guys meet and how did the idea of making a business together come to your minds?
We both worked in Germany together at the same company. Enrico built a finance website just for fun. Julian had the idea to do this with sports, because this was his hobby and have a lot of knowledge. That was the start for our first iGaming website. After some weeks of hard work we had a nice website and wanted to monetize it. We loved the result and it became the origin of Le Rocco becoming an affiliate.
The regulations. In every country we have to take laws into account and the regulations in the social media field are constantly changing. We don’t like bureaucracy. We just want to do it even though it is sometimes hard for us.
What advice would you give to those who are thinking of starting an online betting affiliate website?
Don´t do it! We want all the traffic for us *laugh*
Work hard, and if you think you worked hard, work harder! You have to be willing to invest a lot of time, money and love, and only after a few years you will harvest the fruits. So stay strong.
Were there such situations when you lose motivation? How do you keep yourself on track?
Never! We love our work too much so that we never lose our motivation.
We are no big company; we only have a small team. But this team works so passionately that we reach goals like other big companies.
Which qualities and skills are essential in an affiliate team/business?
Revpanda is our extended arm for a lot of stuff. They can do everything for us, for what we don’t have time and the missing knowledge. A really reliable partner to implement tasks or upgrade projects which we have in our mind.

Which markets are you focusing on right now? Do you plan to expand your GEOs and where?
For a few years, we have been working on our projects in Germany and Austria. Now we rollout projects in Italy, Spain, and for Great Britain as well. Until the end of the year we will be in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, India and Brazil too.
What do you think the industry will be like in 5 years? What are your predictions?
What do you think the industry will be like in 5 years? What are your predictions? We think there will be a lot of regulated markets, but also a lot of potential for some countries. It will also become more difficult to exist only with SEO traffic. Social media is becoming increasingly important. Youtube, Twitch, TikTok etc.
Sure! We work 24/7 for new projects. To do nothing is no option for us.
Which niches work best for affiliates, and which are the most profitable?
How do you deal with stress? Are there any insights you would like to share?
We have no real stress. We plan our tasks for a week and then we have daily tasks. On top we work with clear deadlines. But sometimes if we have a lot of work, some minutes of meditation always help.
Have you ever been to any expos or festivals? What do you think about such possibilities for networking?
We love networking events. Special in the iGaming it is like a family celebration. Good friends come together, talk about business and have fun and of course, sometimes also some drinks 🙂
What is the most interesting thing you have read/watched this month?
Our website traffic 🙂 Honestly, at this crazy time it’s sometimes better to turn off the TV and radio. Try it! Life is much better without bad news!
What are your passions and hobbies? How do you spend your free time?
Enrico: I have 3 Kids, so there is not so much free time after work. But if there is a time slot I go to the gym or use my new longboard
Julian: Of course also my family. In my free time I enjoy the walk through nature and gathering new strength and energy.
